Founded in 2000. It shows pieces of local history.
At the entrance stands a life-size sculpture of Cuban pirate Diego Grillo, character of legends and stories about pirates in this region. This piece, together with the mural depicting an ancient scroll, provide information about the first aboriginal inhabitants of more than 3,000 years ago, the passing of Christopher Columbus in 1494, galleons and pirates and most significantly of the flora and fauna.
The second room is devoted to natural history, which shows areas that make up the ecological reserve, seabed, fauna and terrestrial flora. This entire space is decorated with natural plants and fine white sand and various types of turtles.
The third room shows pieces of different times, completing the theme of the museum, archaeological remains of the people that inhabited the place, an a display of candles, flags and films related to piracy. |
